Toddler Trails - Cork Oak Forest
Service Description
The Cork Oak Forest loop trail in the National Arboretum is approximately 2km. It's a great all-year-round walking location - cool in the summer months and protected from chilly winds in the winter. A relaxing spot where kids love to explore and collect. This is one of the longer Toddler Trails. It is a dirt track and we will go through a grassy part too, but no steps, so workable with a pram. There will also be plenty of time to have a nature play. Toddler Trails have been created with your increasingly independent child in mind. As kids find their feet, many prefer to be out of the baby carrier and would rather push their pram than ride in it. Toddler Trails allows your child the freedom to explore on their own two legs, while you get some outdoor and social time with other parents/carers. MEETING POINT: Dirt Car Park at the end of Cork Oak Road in the National Arboretum. Enter the Arboretum by Forest Drive. Then take your first right into Cork Oak Road. Parking here is free. MAXIMUM NUMBERS: Sessions are limited so please book your spot via the MEGA app and update attendance if you are unable to no longer attend. WHAT TO BRING: Wear comfortable clothes and footwear for walking and active play. Bring a hat, sunscreen, water and healthy snacks. Sometimes the forest area gets a few mozzie, so consider bringing some long pants and insect repellent. FITNESS LEVEL: This event is suitable for parents/carers of all fitness levels. Mums, we recommend you obtain your 6 week clearance from your medical practitioner prior to walking. BABIES & CHILDREN: This event is suitable for parents/carers who are baby wearing or have children who are walking. Meet & Move sessions aim to help parents/carers and their children be active together. Please note: While not really pram-friendly, it can be done with a pram. COVID GUIDELINES: Please do not attend if you or your children are unwell.
